Head of Business Operations
ITURA Jewelry. Lagos, Nigeria
About ITURA
ITURA Jewelry is a Lagos-based jewelry brand creating timeless, elegant pieces for modern Nigerians. We are building more than a jewelry company. We are building a respected, systems-driven brand known for beautiful design, strong customer experience, thoughtful presentation, and operational excellence.
At ITURA, we care deeply about quality, clarity, and the feeling people get when they interact with our brand, whether they are customers, team members, or partners.
As we grow, we are looking for a strong Head of Business Operations to help us build a more disciplined, accountable, and professionally run company.
About the Role
This is a senior leadership role for someone who knows how to bring order, accountability, and momentum to a growing business.
The Head of Business Operations will work closely with the Founder and Co-Founder to ensure the company runs with stronger follow-through, clearer internal structure, better management rhythm, and more visible operational performance.
This role is ideal for someone who is excellent at managing people, tracking execution, improving internal processes, and making sure nothing important falls through the cracks.
You will not be expected to personally do everything. Your job is to make sure the right people are doing the right things, in the right order, on the right timeline, with real accountability.
What You’ll Own
You will lead the systems of execution and accountability across the business by:
Operational Leadership and Accountability
- Driving day-to-day operational follow-through across teams
- Tracking priorities, deadlines, and team commitments
- Ensuring leaders and managers are accountable to their goals and deliverables
- Escalating issues early and helping teams stay aligned
- Reducing founder dependency in day-to-day execution
Team Leadership
- Managing key operational leads and direct reports
- Supporting team structure, role clarity, and performance management
- Helping create a culture of seriousness, discipline, and ownership
- Ensuring operational teams are working with consistency and clear expectations
Meetings and Business Rhythm
- Organizing and running weekly leadership meetings
- Leading KPI review meetings
- Leading SOP and process review meetings
- Coordinating onboarding debriefs
- Preparing agendas, documenting decisions, and ensuring follow-through after meetings
Process Improvement and SOPs
- Developing, refining, and improving SOPs across teams
- Increasing SOP adoption and operational consistency
- Identifying recurring inefficiencies and bottlenecks
- Improving cross-functional handoffs and internal workflows
People Operations Support
- Coordinating onboarding and offboarding
- Supporting the hiring process through screening and interviews
- Recommending strong candidates to the founders
- Supporting performance management and disciplinary processes where needed
- Helping maintain a more professional internal operating environment
Internal Professionalization
- Helping build a company culture that feels structured, respected, and real
- Ensuring team members have proper setup, role clarity, and internal standards
- Driving initiatives like company emails, contracts, ID cards, and cleaner internal systems
- Supporting a stronger sense of identity and professionalism across the company
What Success Looks Like
In this role, success will look like:
- We have clear visibility into how well the business is operating
- We know our average procurement times, fulfillment times, and issue resolution times
- Managers are more accountable and need less founder follow-up
- Meetings are useful, structured, and lead to action
- SOPs are current, practical, and actually used
- Onboarding and offboarding feel professional and well-managed
- Teams operate with more clarity, consistency, and discipline
- The company feels more respected internally and more professionally run
Who You’ll Work With
You will report directly to the Founder and Co-Founder.
You will directly manage:
- Admin Assistant
- Fulfillment Manager
- Inventory / Procurement Manager
You will also work closely with other leaders across the company to improve execution and accountability.
Who You Are
You are a strong operator with excellent people judgment and a bias for follow-through.
You are likely someone who:
- Has experience managing people and driving operational accountability
- Knows how to turn messy environments into organized ones
- Is calm, firm, and respected
- Can manage leaders, not just individual contributors
- Is proactive and highly reliable
- Is strong with follow-up, coordination, and execution
- Knows how to improve process without becoming bureaucratic
- Is comfortable having hard conversations when necessary
- Understands how to bring structure to a founder-led, growing company
- Cares about professionalism, standards, and building a serious company
What We’re Looking For
We would love to hear from you if you have:
- Experience in operations, business operations, people operations, or executive operations
- Strong experience managing teams and holding people accountable
- Experience building or improving internal systems, processes, and workflows
- Confidence running meetings, driving action items, and enforcing follow-through
- Comfort using tools like Notion, Shopify, spreadsheets, hiring trackers, and operational systems
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Strong judgment, maturity, and discretion
Experience in a fast-moving consumer brand, ecommerce business, retail operation, or founder-led company is a strong advantage.
This Role Is Not For You If…
- You need constant direction to do your best work
- You prefer being a support assistant rather than an operational leader
- You avoid accountability conversations
- You struggle to manage multiple moving parts at once
- You like talking about strategy more than making things happen
- You are uncomfortable pushing leaders and teams toward deadlines and standards
Why Join ITURA
This is an opportunity to help shape the internal operating engine of a fast-growing brand with real ambition.
You will join at an important stage where your work can have a direct and visible impact on how the company scales, how teams perform, and how the founders lead.
This role is for someone who wants to help build a respected company, not just manage tasks.
How to Apply
In your cover letter, add:
- A short note telling us why you are a strong fit for this role
- Examples of operational improvements, team leadership, or accountability systems you have led in previous roles
