Procurement & Inventory Manager

ITURA Jewelry. Lagos, Nigeria

About ÌTURA

ÌTURA is a proudly Nigerian demi-fine jewelry brand blending quiet luxury with ethical craftsmanship. We create elegant, durable pieces for everyday wear — necklaces, rings, bracelets, and earrings — using 18k gold vermeil, recycled metals, lab-grown stones, and hypoallergenic, water-safe finishes.

Our customers are modern professionals and thoughtful gift-givers who want jewelry that looks refined, feels comfortable on sensitive skin, and actually lasts.

As we grow, we are building a stronger internal operating system across procurement, inventory, fulfillment, content, and customer experience. This role is central to that growth.

Why This Role Exists

Procurement at ÌTURA has been founder-led up to this point. We are now hiring a Procurement & Inventory Manager to turn that into a smart, scalable system.

This person will own the flow of stock from planning demand and placing Purchase Orders, to tracking freight, coordinating suppliers, managing ETAs, and ensuring the right products arrive on time, in the right quantities, with strong visibility throughout.

Without stock, there are no sales. This role exists to keep bestsellers in stock, launches on schedule, dead stock under control, and founders out of the day-to-day procurement loop.

About the Role

The Procurement & Inventory Manager will own the procurement and inventory engine for ÌTURA. You will be responsible for demand planning, reorder decisions, Purchase Order creation and tracking, supplier coordination, freight monitoring, receiving visibility, and stock accuracy.

You will work closely with the Founder, Fulfillment team, and Operations function to make sure product and packaging availability supports sales without chaos, delays, or unnecessary cash leakage.

This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, calm under pressure, detail-obsessed, and strong at keeping moving parts visible and under control.

What You’ll Be Doing

Plan, Purchase, Track

  • Pull weekly sales and stock data to calculate sales velocity and reorder needs
  • Create and manage Purchase Orders in Notion, including SKU, quantity, COGS, shipping mode, and ETA
  • Coordinate with suppliers on production timelines, invoices, and payment status
  • Keep Purchase Orders updated from “Queued” to “Received in Warehouse”
  • Maintain clean visibility on incoming stock, delayed orders, and procurement priorities

Freight & Forwarder Coordination

  • Liaise with freight forwarders on parcel consolidation and shipping options
  • Choose between express, sea, or other suitable freight modes based on urgency and cost
  • Track ETAs closely, flag delays early, and communicate risks clearly to internal teams
  • Ensure every parcel is tracked and accounted for from supplier to warehouse

Warehouse & Inventory Oversight

  • Work with the warehouse / fulfillment team to ensure accurate receiving and stock updates
  • Ensure inventory is stored safely and recorded correctly
  • Run weekly cycle counts and quarterly full counts
  • Reconcile discrepancies quickly and investigate the root cause of variances

Reporting & Optimization

  • Share weekly updates on Purchase Order status, ETAs, risks, and spend versus budget
  • Identify potential stock risks before they become problems
  • Recommend smarter freight options, reorder timing improvements, and SKU cleanup decisions
  • Flag dead stock and help build plans to reduce it over time

What Success Looks Like in 3–6 Months

  • 95%+ in-stock rate on top SKUs
  • No surprises: every parcel tracked, every Purchase Order visible
  • Procurement spend within ±10% of forecast
  • Average Purchase Order to warehouse lead time of 14 days or less
  • Dead stock identified, flagged, and a clear action plan in motion

About You

You treat company cash like your own. You do not panic when a shipment is delayed. You are steady under pressure, strong with numbers, and naturally proactive.

You are likely someone who:

  • notices details early
  • thinks in systems and timelines
  • communicates clearly before problems become emergencies
  • is comfortable following through across suppliers, freight partners, and internal teams
  • can balance product availability with cash discipline
  • likes building clarity, not managing chaos

Must-Haves

  • 3–6 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory, or operations in a product-based business
  • Direct experience managing imports into Nigeria, ideally from Europe, the US, and/or Asia
  • Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills
  • Hands-on experience with Purchase Order creation, supplier coordination, freight management, and warehouse handoff
  • High integrity, strong accountability, and proactive communication

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in fashion, jewelry, beauty, or cosmetics
  • Familiarity with Shopify, Notion, or ERP systems
  • Experience negotiating pricing, MOQs, or payment terms

Perks

  • Competitive pay
  • Performance bonus of up to 20% annually
  • Hybrid flexibility, with on-site presence required for key tasks
  • 2 weeks paid time off
  • Occasional team lunches
  • Staff discount on all jewelry
